Invitation to Moot Court Finals at the Netherlands Senate of the Parliament
In this year’s competition, 30 students from seven Dutch universities, two Belgian universities and the Royal Military Academy in Belgium participate in lectures, role plays and a moot court. On Friday, the teams will plead a fictional court case before a jury. The two best teams will plead again later that day in the Moot Court Finals before a jury composed of Judge Christopher Greenwood (International Court of Justice), commodore Peter Heblij (Head of Military Legal Services at the Dutch Ministry of Defence) and Liesbeth Lijnzaad (Head of the International Law Division at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The prize for Best Oralist will be awarded by Pieter de Jong Schouwenburg of Van Doorne law firm.
You are cordially invited to the finale event, which will be held at the Netherlands Senate of the Parliament (“Eerste Kamer der Staten-Generaal”), Binnenhof 22, The Hague, on Friday March 1, 2013 from 14.00 – 16.30h. The event is followed by drinks.
