The programme aims to reduce child mortality due to diarrhoea in eleven countries. To avoid infection of the youngest, most vulnerable children within a family, the entire community is assisted by providing clean drinking water, sanitary facilities and soap. Furthermore, the Red Cross gives parents and children information and training on hygiene and care for people with diarrhoea.
The NLRC works together with Spanish Red Cross and Red Cross of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to improve access to water, hygene and sanitation in CDR. The project uses a community approach and increases capacity building to reduce child mortality and morbidity due to diarrhea.
This is a cooperation between Mali Red Cross, Spanish Red Cross Society and Netherlands Red Cross society.
