The Syrian Crisis errupted in 2011, and since then, the crisis has had a direct impact on the hospitals of the Palestine Red Crescent Soceity (PRCS). These hospitals provided free-of-charge and non-discriminatory emergency medical and surgical services. The Bissan Hospital was the only operational hospital in the area after many public and private hospitals were forced to close down, resulting in the number of patients greatly increasing. The hospital in Al Yarmoek Camp also continues to operate even though electricity, food, medicine and medical supplies are seriously lacking. The PRCS urgently needs support to ensure the hospitals can continue to treat patients.
This project supports the rehabilitation of three Palestine Red Crescent Society Hospitals.
The implementing partner of this project is the Palestine Red Crescent Soceity who is receiving financial support from the Netherlands Red Crescent Society.
