The humanitarian situation in the Syrian Arab Republic is desastrous. Because of the conflict a large part of the population is uprooted and internally displaced. Since 2011 many Syrians crossed the border to Libanon. Even though it has become difficult to cross the border recently, refugee numbers are still growing. Aproximately 1,5 million people fled Syria to stay registered or unregistered in Libanon.
The goal of this project is the provission of emergency assistance to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Libanese host communities.
Through this project the Libanese Red Cross offers assistence to 42,000 persons a year. The targeted group will be Syrian refugees, but also Palestines who fled Syria and Lebanese nationals who used to live in Syria.
