First Aid courses (English)
Why learn about First Aid?
Learning the skills required to perform first aid only takes a few hours and can have a significant influence in times of a crisis. Therefore, the Red Cross Amsterdam-Amstelland offers several types of first aid courses in English: a basic first aid course, an extended first aid course, a course on CPR and AED use, and first aid to babies and children. Using the skills you learn during one of our courses you will be able to administer assistance to yourself or injured ones until (if necessary) medical professionals arrive and can take over. Learning how to apply First Aid is a very empowering tool to have, especially during times of a crisis.
Of course, without applying your skills, the most natural course of action is that in time, you might forget your skills. Therefore, we also provide refresher courses.
First Aid (Adults)
The Red Cross’s vision is to prepare everyone for crisis situations, and to ensure that everyone can help themselves and others. To make sure everyone can provide help, we now offer a variety of English First Aid course opportunities and certification programs.
CPR and AED
Would you like to help when it counts the most? At the Red Cross Amsterdam-Amstelland, we offer CPR and AED training so you can certifiably save a lives at times when every minute counts. Did you know in the Netherlands it takes on average 6 minutes for emergency services to arrive for sudden cardiac arrest emergencies? And that per year there are roughly 8.000 cardiac arrests outside of hospitals? – each minute CPR is not applied, and an AED machine is not used, reduces victim survival by 10%. Get certified today to help save lives!
First Aid for Babies and Children
All humans are the same. However, when it comes to first aid, babies and children require a specialized form of care. If you would like to learn how to administer first aid to babies and children, then this course is for you!
