Why?
The programme This Next Generation, Supporting the development of young people in war and conflict. The theme focusses on children and young adults who live in the most extreme circumstances and therefore have little chance on schooling and development. They are the silent victims of war. The funding of this programme is made possible by 3FM fundraising activity. The aim of the programme is to make young people who have to cope with conflict and that are part of ‘this next generation’ more resilient to the consequences of conflict. Technical support is offered from NLRC HQ in The Hague.
What?
The Red Cross supports the development of young people in war and conflict by focussing on four different area’s: education and personal development, psychosocial support, food and income for families, and emergency assistance.
