Worldwide, over 4 million people are searching for their loved-ones. Mostly in conflict areas such as Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo. DRC, Nigeria, South Sudan
What?
The intervention of the ICRC will focus on four components of RFL services:
– reunifying children and their families
– providing start-up kits to children during and after their reunification
– restoring contact
– carrying out tracing activities
Who?
The project in the ICRC will mainly focus on children and their families. The consequences of being lost and living without family are most prevalent for children: without food, water, shelter and school they have to survive by themselves without any support. They are forced to pursue alternative ways to pursue their livelihood. In this quest they are extremely vulnerable to human traffickers, exploitation, malnutrition and (sexual) violence
