Why?
The continued armed conflict in Syria has resulted in refugees spilling over it borders into neighbouring Turkey. Other regional conflicts have caused even more refugees and asylum seekers to seek refuge in Turkey. In 2015, the number of refugees and asylum seekers in Turkey is expected to reach close to 1.9 million, 1.7 million of whom come from Syria. This necessitates tremendous resources not only in terms of infrastructure, but human services as well.
