Why?
The Covid-19 response project in Haiti, funded by MoFA through the DRU. To implement Covid-19 response activities in Haiti. A significant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases is expected from mid-April onwards. The combination of COVID-19, the ongoing political and socioeconomic crisis and the upcoming cyclonic season, unfortunately paint a very grim picture for the people in Haiti for the months ahead. What?
Prevent and reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 through effective coordination, implementation of preventative measures and the dissemination of basic information to local communities by mobilizing the Haitian Red Cross volunteer network.
This project is aimed at achieving the following results:
1. The operational capacity of the various state and non-state institutions involved in the COVID-19 response in the target municipalities is strengthened through enhanced coordination and the implementation of preventative measures.
2. Public awareness on COVID-19 is increased through risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) activities.
3. The response capacities of Haitian Red Cross and other institutions in the target municipalities are strengthened through the reactivation of the Community Based Epidemiological Surveillance system (SEBAC) and the training of volunteers and staff.
