Why?
In december 2013 violence in South Sudan creates a complex humanitarian crisis. In 2013-2014 more than 250,000 refugees fled from South Sudan to western Ethiopia. Most refugees stayed in different refugee camps in Gambella region. In 2015 IFRC launched an Emergency Appeal to offer general assistence. Assistentence of this Appeal ended in december 2015, after several extentions. Netherlands Red Cross and Swiss Red Cross decided to continue activities together with Ethiopian Red Cross.
