Why?
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the government’s efforts in improving the health status of target communities and reduce the impact of HIV by 2015. The project aims to contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality of children under the age of five and of women in childbearing age, as well as in vulnerable communities, and to confine the prevalence of HIV to less than 5% and mitigate its impact in the target areas. Another objective of the project is to enhance the operational development in HIV/AIDS interventions for the branch. What?
A well-functioning Human Resource management will be reached through developing and implementing human resource management policy and systems, and by making sure that certain technical procedures and processes – such as Remuneration packages, Job Contracts and Descriptions, Recruitment processes, Conditions of Employment, Organisational Rules and Regulations – are in place. The General Assembly will be given financial support. The Branch Capacity Assessment will be supported by supporting workshops. Management and leadership training will be supported through exchange and study visits.
Who?
The capacity building support project is a cooperation between the Netherlands Red Cross and the South Sudan Red Cross, which targets the new National Society of the SSRC and its 100 staff members. The Branch Capacity Assessment of all 10 branches is supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
