Directly after Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti an early response came from the Aruba Red Cross. Aruba Red Cross sent two trained volunteers with emergency supplies to Haiti. Hurricane Matthew, the strongest storm of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane season, crossed Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and The Bahamas. It hit Haiti on October 4th 2016. An early response was undertaken from Aruba because of its relatively close situated. Haiti
Logistics to transport volunteers and supplies were offered by Dutch Marine. Tarps, tents, medical supplies and bottled water were transported to Haiti.
