Why?
This Emergency Appeal seeks a total of 2.5 million Swiss francs to enable the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) to deliver assistance and support early recovery to 150,000 people in 29 counties affected with floods for a period of 12 months. Heavy rainfall continues to be experienced in most parts of the country affecting about 31,564HHs (approx. 189,384 people), with 5,249 households displaced, 90 persons reported dead and over 26,277 livestock deaths and 2,540 acres of farmland destroyed.
