Why?

The project’s objective is to increase the resilience of Bainet and Cotes de Fer communes by protecting, improving and diversifying livelihoods, providing access to water, improving access to health care and enhancing local DRR capacity. On January 12, 2010, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti, the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. The earthquake affected millions of civilians. This project aims to enahance resielence of Bainet and Cotes de Fer communes by protecting, improving and diversifying livelihoods The project aims at communities in Bainet and Cotes de Fer (South-East Haiti)

What?

The project aims at a stronger resilience by strengthening the risk and disaster management, promoting coordination, and linkages between institutional and community actors in the South East of Haiti and the Enriquillo region in the Dominican Republic.

Who?

The project is a cooperation between the Netherlands Red Cross and the Fundación Alianza por los Derechos, la Igualdad Y la Solidaridad International (ALIANZA). The project is multidonor funded, such as the Belgium Red Cross and the Finnish Red Cross.
