Why?

This operation aims to assist 309,600 people affected by outbreak of dengue in Western Province of Sri Lanka, namely Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts A total of 142,361 suspected Dengue cases have been reported to the Epidemiology Unit, Sri Lanka from all over the island for the last 8 months in the year of 2017 with over 320 deaths. All four Virus types of Dengue have been seen in Sri Lanka. This operation takes place in Western Province of Sri Lanka, namely Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts.

What?

This program will deliver assistance to affected individuals by organizing dengue vector breeding site clean up campaigns, supporting proper sold waste management practices, supporting staff in high priority hospitals, and strengthening emergency water and sanitation facilities in hospitals.
