Why?
Open Studio is part of the Palestinian Red Crescent hospital and rehabilitation clinic El Amal-City, in Khan Younis, Gaza. In this after-school centre, children with and without a handicap participate in a variety of activities that stimulate curiosity and creativity. Expression through art, dance and sports helps the children cope with the realities of living in Gaza. Children in Gaza grow up with the realities of checkpoints, scarcity of resources and limited freedom of movement, with occasional threats and outbreaks of violence. Open Studio provides an outlet for their emotions through various art forms and sports. Khan Younis, Gaza
