Why?
The proposed action is designed to contribute to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate shocks and stresses in Amhara Region.
What?
In a nutshell, the challenges vulnerable communities in Ebinat woreda are facing with regard to weather and climate service in order for them to take mitigation and adaptation measures are summarized as:
• Accessibility problem- Vulnerable communities are unable to access climate forecast
• Understandability problem: both the climate info and advisories released are too technical and hard for communities to understand
• Actionability problem: it doesn’t adequately and clearly guide communities what actions to take, when and how.
The action will contribute to address the above identified gaps in order for 10,000 vulnerable households (with a special focus on women, children, youth and landless farmers) in Ebinat District of Amhara Region have accessed climate information and advisories, understood it and taken actions to enhance their adaptation and resilience against climate shocks and stresses.
