It was followed by a second earthquake of 5.4 magnitude at 07:10 AM with the epicenter around Durres (34 km northwest of Tirana). At least 21 people have been killed and hundreds injured after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the Tirana area of Albania in the early hours of 26 November. What?
The Albanian Red Cross has deployed doctors, first aiders and 160 volunteers, who are working at hospitals and at a tent camp at a football stadium in Durres, providing medical care, first aid, psychosocial support, food, water, hot drinks, blankets and hygiene items.
Who?
A total of 10,000 people will be supported with health, WASH, unconditional multi-purpose cash grants, livelihoods and shelter (household items) activities. 50,000 people are planned to be assisted through community based DRR and health activities
