The purpose of this project is provide emergency assistanceto Syrian civilians seeking refuge in Lebanon as result of armed conflict in Syria. Due to substantial human displacement caused by the Syrian conflict in 2011, refugees have spilled over borders, fleeing to Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon. The large numbers of refugees are established in unofficial camps in Lebanon, being scattered across its more than 1,500 municipalities, placing strain on the Lebanese support infrastructure, economy, and on the refugees who settle in already poverty-stricken areas. This project takes place throughout Lebanon.
Providing support to Syrian refugees in Lebanon comes in the form of structural support from the Lebanese Red Cross. This support includes providing ambulance services, and access to emergency medical centres, mobile clinics, and blood transfusion centres.
This project supports Syrian refugees and vulnerable members of the host population in Lebanon.
