Why?
A project that aims to address the spread of COVID-19 in CAR through Health and WaSH measures. Contribute to the implementation of the national response plan to COVID-19 disease in the Central African Republic i.e. to reduce the risk of further spread of COVID-19 through risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) and health and hygiene promotion activities at epicentres of infection as prioritized by the Ministry of Health. This intervention will be undertaken primarily to cover 18 localities for the time being and for a period of 6 months, depending on the development of the pandemic in the country and the MoH priorities. What?
This operation will focus on RCCE through social mobilization, and promotion of positive health and hygiene practices through sensitisation campaigns, handwashing campaigns, surveillance or early referral activities, SGBV and psychosocial support, especially for DBM teams, health workers as well as the community. The Movement Coordination will support the CRCA to ensure effective participation of communities by providing information needs on COVID-19, setting up feedback mechanism as guided by the IFRC CEA standards and Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS). The approach for the risk communication will be done through the most effective and appropriate channels of communication with communities.
